Thoughts: This movie is about a young little girl named Moonee and her mom Halley who live in a hotel and have a hard time with money so Moonee and her mom would sell perfume to be able to pay for their stay at the hotel. Bobby, who is the manager of the hotel seems to hate the kid but in reality he cares a lot for them. The movie takes a huge turn because the mom is not able to financially help her daughter so she turns into a sex worker to better help her daughter. All of that leads to everyone living in the hotel to know about her job and child protective services show up and tries to take her daughter. Monne runs away when child protective services tries to take her away from her mom and kept running till getting to Disneyland. This ending of the movie made me and other people think that when she was running away she got hit by a car and died and her entering Disneyland was heaven which was Moonnee’s happy place.
I wouldn't watch this movie again,I emotionally couldn't. This movie was based on situations that can happen in real life and changed the way I see mothers such as how they will do anything to help their child, but also how it can affect them. This movie has a strong message on how some people live their lives like that.
