Meet Keon Ealey, a Junior at Seaside High School. He is one of the captains of Seasides Varsity football team. He began playing when he was 10 years old for the Seaside Raiders and plans on continuing to play in the future for the Oregon ducks. Ealey enjoys playing because he likes being on the field and being able to use his leadership skills to keep his teammates motivated through tough times. He states that he has never thought about quitting because, “I hold myself to a high standard and want to be the best version of myself and really quitting has never crossed my mind.” He believes to always give 100% effort because he knows that many students out there would like to play sports but can't due to disabilities or grades.

Keon looks up to multiple people one of those being, Alfred Avila, a coach on the team. “He's a wise person. He knows the game and lets me know I’m able to do anything as long as I put in the effort.” Coaches and others would describe Keon as a great, hardworking person on and off the field. He has many strengths with one of those being his speed. On Ealeys first year in track he finished second in school history for the 400m and hopes to beat the record this year. He says “I put in a lot of work, going to the weight room has really helped and mentally believing and surrounding myself with people who encourage me has helped me through it.” Overall, Keon is an important person to the team, who appreciates and is thankful for everything he has and is just training for future opportunities.
